What did you do with your ST1100/ST1300 today?

Replaced final drive oil, replaced fork oil, checked valve clearances (changed shim on #4 inlet from 195 to 197, purrfect again...), installed new valve cover gaskets and grommets of course, synced the carbs...

BTW anyone knows the P/N for this essential tool?

Changed Oil, Air Filter, New rear brakes, new PR4 on front and New Commander II on the rear. All ready to head to Deadhorse in 2 weeks!

Got the right (and left) brake pads installed, flushed the forks, flushed the brake fluid, new air filter. New tire was mounted up the other day, put on and getting ready for a shake down ride.

New rubber going on my recent purchase used 2012 with 5500 miles, stock tires, date code of 2011! The original tires are hard as a rock and severely cupped. My new No Mar tire changer had a tough time with the old tires! 90 deg and humid in the garage, lost 5 lbs I bet!

Rebuilt the clutch diode yesterday. Cut, hollowed out with a milling cutter, mounted two diodes 1N5408, poured epoxy resin and remade the housing. $3US total cost. Works like new one. Saving $13US without shipping...

yesterday i was checking over the Mighty ST 1300. i let my cousin ride it for a few days and when he bought it back the front tire was low on air, i thought there was a nail or something in the tire but couldn't find anything after soaping up the tire. i checked the valve stem but it wasn't leaking either. i aired up the tire and slowly rode down the block only to realize that the rim is badly bent, i also noticed a right side fairing panel missing. i drove out to rosenau power sport in the Mustang to pick up some parts i had ordered for the Wing and ordered the panel, now i need to see if the rim can be fixed or if i'll have to get another one

Perfect day today : scattered clouds and 77F / 25C.

So, it was perfect weather to bleed the clutch.



And after that, following my last month front tire replacement, I decided to remove my front wheel again just to double check the balancing.
Last month, I tried my smallest weight ( 7 grams or a quarter of an once), and it was a little too heavy.
So I temporarly use half of that ( 4 grams) in the form of a 5 cents stucked in place with a piece of duct tape.
It was not exactly perfect but I decided it was perfect enough.



So, now that I have a wheel balancer stand, let's see what it says.
It turns out that with the new aluminum valve (instead of the old rubber valve) I dont need any balancing weight.
4 grams is really not much. But results were a bit better without any weight.



I did a little speed check after that, on my local section of "Interstate", when it's quiet and deserted. I went up in speed, a number with three digit, that's all I can say, and yes....the kind of light buzzing that I could felt before, at a certain speed, is now gone.

185 mile round trip to meet an old friend at Cornwall War Museum at Davidstowe. Having spent a few hours in the museum, we had to ride up to Bude for a late lunch as all the local cafes closed at 3.00. Well worth the effort as a good day enjoyed by both of us.

I wanted a gear indicator for my ST1300 and decided to try one off of amazon, it was £46, advertised for all fuel injected Honda's but the ST wasn't listed.
Went for it anyway and fitted it today, only 1 plug to connect, did the reset procedure as per the (1 A5 sheet) instructions, with the bike on the centre stand, ran it through the gears and it was done, tried it out on a short trip to my sisters and it works perfectly.
The only "problem" is the wire is not really long enough, it does reach but could have done with a bit more slack.
Only stuck it to the dash at the moment but I intend to put it inside the instrument cluster.
