Buying parts for ST1100 do you still get it at Honda dealers? Are there others who specialize in parts for ST1100 … Otherwise I see both used and new parts on eBay, easy to search / buy parts at cmsnl.com

I have 4 ST1100 'runners' and 4 ST1100 parts bikes.
I haven't bought any Honda parts from a dealer in many years as they seldom ever stocked anything for them.
It usually had to be ordered and I could order it online and get it faster and cheaper than they would.
There are still some ST1100 new stock out there but EBay is the only source for some stuff.
Sometimes David Silver Spares or CMSNL will have something but not very often.
I did buy a ST1100 OEM Trunk from CMSNL a while back - probably the last 'new' one in the world - in a blue color that I did not know they came in. ;)

CMSNL is good, but can be expensive. David Silver Spares https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ have quite a good supply.
Agree on CMS, plus they sometimes maintain an odd practice to "inflate" shipment costs by splitting an order without notifying... sticking me with 2x FedEx fees... :cautious:
They'd further rebuild/changed their http system recently, deleted the [my motorcycles] bookmarks in the process and show the fiche now alphabetically, which makes no sense...
Previously I'd select [my motorcycles] and just click on the vehicle in question (had 5 models in my account), now I have to wade through the full search e.v.e.r.y. time...

As the UK decided to leave the EC and sail into the Atlantic, I can't order at DS anymore as customs get all over me...
plus that DS sometimes just decides to ship pattern parts whilst I definitely ordered OEM... not cool...
And their constant fuss in processing non UK credit cards; every time I had to call up and verbalize the number + 3 digit code to them...
I would even have paid via online banking, but UK refused to join that IBAN & BIC system from day one...

Wemoto would have been also a good source for pattern parts... but based in UK again the customs issue...

MSP is another shop, and they ship from within the EC, hence no trouble with exorbitant custom fees, they won't have the lowest prices but this might be compensated by lower shipping fees...

My procedure: verify the P/N in the CMS fiche, copy that and google the heck out of it... and always compare prices including the to be expected shipment costs...

And sometimes you still can get really lucky and nick some NOS (new, old stock) parts at eBay...

I have purchased service parts for the ST1100 from a local motorcycle shop that I shop at a lot and get good prices. I have also purchased engine oil, brake fluid and coolant from a local shop and there I have chosen to buy Putoline products that I have used on other motorcycles that I have good experience with.

I have placed an order with cmsnl.com last Sunday, o-rings for the rear wheel as recommended here on the forum along with various screws, clips, plastic plugs, overhaul kit for the clutch, throttle roller, throttle cable and new handlebars.

On their website I do not find any option to store my bikes as mentioned here, the status of my order has still not been changed or processed. I tried to send them an email to add an item to the same shipment that I gave up after receiving a reply to an email where I had to register a service ticket.

I have a little better experience with ordering parts for vintage bikes from UK and USA that I have restored. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before I get the parts.

Yeah... they recently "upgraded" their website... killing the [my motorcycles] library in the process (I had 5 models in there... now I've to wade through the full search e.v.e.r.y. time... :cautious: )
They now also show the parts fiche sorted alphabetically, instead of the logical order Honda had placed them (like in their hard-copy parts catalogue)... can't find $h!t...
Opened a ticked about that... they apologized and promised that this is only the transition phase...
We'll see about that...

Ordered parts from cmsnl.com last Sunday without any change in the status of the order which has shown "Status: Initial" since I placed the order. This is very strange to me as I have bought a lot of parts previously from the USA, UK and Germany where orders are packed and shipped the same day or the next day with tracking all the way. Is it the case that they do not have the parts in house and have to order from external sources so it takes several weeks to get the parts …
:unsure-2x:

Yes, this is quite often the case, I have sometimes waited quite a while for parts from CMSNL. I tend to use Fowlers of Bristol, if they have the parts, because they post quickly, second option is David Silver, although they too can take a while..... having said all that, CMSNL do quite often have bits that the others don't....... so 'better the devil you know than the one you don't' :)

OK :) Thanks :thumb:

Now I have not received any of the parts ordered from cmsnl.com yet and the status is still "Initial" like a week ago. I have two orders there now plus I would like to add 1 pc screw if possible. I understand that they do not want email but I have to create a "Support tickets" if there are any questions.

I have done so now with a request if they can merge my two orders to one and add 1 pc screw, I have also stated that if there is more to pay they can send me a PayPal request for the amount.

They cannot merge two orders to one and they cannot add 1 pc screw. I have to buy the 1 pc screw via the website for $9.14 plus shipping $19.36 … What do you think about such a business and is there a place where you buy parts …

What about experience buying Honda parts from Webike in Japan … There are nice prices and low shipping can be chosen but the website is slow and browsers like Safari on iOS work poorly Firefox is better.

I second @Uncle Phil's statement... prices seem decent and they carry some 'obsolete' items too...
Shipment duration is an issue though, but most annoying are processing time and added costs due local customs... :cautious:
down here I'm getting charged with 20% VAT plus another 5% processing fee on top of that... and it takes them >2 weeks... while you sitting there with the ST in pieces... :(

So you've to seriously calculate and compare, sometimes some dealer based in Germany or even CMSNL with their exorbitant FedEx shipment fees turn out to be cheaper...

What I haven't fully figured out yet are MSP, also located in the Netherlands...
They've enlarged their portfolio immensely in the past decade, some prices significantly below CMS, but then they ship the items in CMS packings!

Above items for my GF's NT700VA
81320MEWD40 Body Assy., L. Saddlebag
81220MEWD40 Body Assy., R. Saddlebag
were such a case...

If there are parts you need to get the bike on the road, such deliveries are useless. I have ordered some parts for the ST1100 that I will eventually need (wear parts), whether I get them this year or next spring is not important. I placed an order after a lot of trouble creating an account before I managed to do it with Firefox browser.

Here is an example of an order from Webike, clutch slave cylinder for ST1100 and you can choose between 6 shipping options. Taxes that your country charges for imported goods are additional.
