Okay, I'm :nuts1: and my wife will agree with me, so...

Stefani missing 10,000 miles on her odometer got me thinking about what numbers do you like to catch on your odometer?

Some are the actual number, and some could be patterns.

How to catch them is fun for me too, times like when I know a number is coming up, but I get caught up with all the traffic around me, then I look down a see the number I was watching for! I very seldom take pictures of them; I just catch them as I?m riding. :biker:

So some of the numbers for me are:

Any 9..9 numbers.
Any 1000 that pops up.
Any pattern of 91919 (any number replacing 9 or 1)
Any pattern of 99199 (any number replacing 9 or 1)
Any pattern of 99999 (any number replacing 9)

The first 10,000! (one Stefani missed)

Then:
25,000
50,000
75,000

Of course 99999 and 100,000 :hat1:

Any other numbers anyone else like to catch? :D

Consecutive numbers are neat. I pulled over during the summer for a break and checking my gas gauge noticed my odometer was 56789. I wasn't looking for it or even thought of it, but it was a neat little thing. Told my wife and she replied, "And?" If I have to explain it, you don't get it. Just like riding. Have a few more rides until 67890, then that will be the end until over 100k.

I have my sites set on 0987654321 (including the trip meter, gotta remember to set to zero at 098333 on the odo.)

Only one I came CLOSE to getting was 130,000 on ReSTored. That marked my 100,000 miles on her. Didn't get pulled off for the pic 'til 130,001 tho. Close enuff for me. :D

I'm always fascinated by the same numbers across the odometer or consecutive numbers. With any luck, this next year I'll be seeing more of that happening this coming year!!

Wow, I am not alone. I look for squares and the decimal sequence of phi <snicker>. :D

Now for the win, ... who has a photograph???

Not a big milestone but I've only had the bike a little while.....36363.

Just like the look of it somehow

Without even thinking about it tonight, on the commute home, I hit 99499! I just looked down and saw it! :hat1:

Here are some of them...

I like watching for palindromic numbers (ex: 34543). I also watch for the century marks: 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, etc...

For the record, I just hit 45,000 today. Just 5K more to go? :D

This picture was from earlier this year when I hit 40K:

AND WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!:wave1:

I have pictures of my .05 at 199,999 and 1.3 miles later it read..........0. Surprised me! If I could figure out how put in my post I would.

I was annoyed that I missed 123456 7890 so I paid particular attention as I was getting close to the next opportunity. 234567 8910 was on the side of the road in New Mexico in September, 2008. I'll try to remember 300,000 once I get the bike back on the road as it is currently 299,368.

Note: these are kilometers, not miles.

Saw a picture of a guy with a 996 (Porsche 911) that managed to capture a picture of his instrument cluster right at 123,123 miles, while doing 123MPH and the trip gauge at 123 miles.

My new nine and a half year old bike went over 11,111 recently..... stopped in the middle of nowhere to take the shot....

Hopefully will also get 12345 soon.....

Bike had 6,638 on when I bought it in May.... not getting out enough....

Thanks all for sharing, never knew there were so many others that were (as my wife would say) :nuts1: for letting things like that excite you! :crackup

I just heard about the flipping back to 0 after 199,999. I hope to see it on my bike one of these days, then I will sell it as a low mileage bike...:crackup

To post the pics, make sure they aren't too big, then just select the paperclip and just select your pics.:camera1:

I had to laugh when my ST was at 51050 !!

I did not get the picture but in my line of work that is a crazy person :nuts1: :a13:

Made me think of myself!!! :fuzz1: :D:D
