Got a call from a forum member the other day for some help on the white courtesy phone.
Seems he purchased a spare set of rims, and took the rear wheel into a genuine Honda shop to have the “Wheel bearings” replaced.
He called me asking what would cause the wheel to no longer fit on the bike!
I asked for pictures, and he was kind enough to send these.
He said the rear wheel spacer would no longer fit into the wheel (see pictures)
Just from what I can see from the pictures, some IDIOT not only used NON-OEM Bearings, but used Mis-Matched ones!
The blue one on one side looks like a cheap all balls bearing, and an unknown (not Honda) bearing on the other side.
Then used a non-Honda bearing dust seal that is too thick to allow the spacer to fit correctly.
However, what really upset me, was when the bearings, and dust cover didn’t fit correctly, they used a PUNCH and tried to STAKE them in place damaging the wheel!
I am at a loss for words! But you can bet I would be on the phone with Honda Customer Care, and sitting outside the service department waiting for it to open this morning.

What shop? This should go into the vendor feedback section so others don't use that shop.

I was going to let for forum member post that information.
But I could not agree more.

There are times when 3rd party are as good as OEM or, at least, good enough... this is not one of them.
