My morning zen is coffee...
Aligning my chakras one sip at a time...

G'Day...

11°/21°C, sunny, bright... (after two days with monsoon like downpours)... and we've a Holiday! (Whit Monday)

GF outside, snipping weeds, killing bugs...
Sent the lawn drone on its mission (in style, via phone app, how to do it these days...) and installed a new heater/faucet on the garden sink,
so we don't have to drag our dirty paws back into the house for cleansing...

Worked on the '94 ST the past two days...
valve adjustment, carb overhaul, and then some...
Also 'white helmet with bike speaking now is'... read: removed the Autocom ProM1 (with heavy heart ) and installed a SENA BT interface...
So the white Shoei Neotec (yep, first gen) with its Sena 10U is now paired with this ST... FM stereo, iPod, Garmin Quest-I... and BT bike to bike with ze GF...

carb sync on that '94 bike is quite a challenge, nearly 200,000km on... can't do it in idle... linkages have worn way too loose to get steady readings...
As I rarely 'idle around' anyway I sycned it at 3000 and 4000rpm... smooth! And really prompt on the throttle...

Still not totally satisfied, will need to replace the cams...
Despite being dead center with the valve clearances now, whist very smooth revs a noticeable "...dap-dap-dap..." on the outlet cams in idle, and it aren't the valves, the springs in the spur gears have become weak (you can drop the cams in by hand, while you'd normally require a large screwdriver to twist/align the sprockets to mesh...); will have to loot my stash for the replacements...

A family gathering later on, DIL has invited to a "father's day lunch"... will have a feast there...

have a good one!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 66°F, cloudy, and humid (RH is currently 100 percent, so that the temperature feels like 70, even at this early hour) in Rockville. We await a day of mostly cloudy skies and a high around 83.

It's Monday, which makes it Old Guy Golf Day for me, followed this afternoon by uke practice at my friend's place- the last of each of these before we depart Wednesday for the remainder of the month. In between I'll have a call with our financial advisor, just to check in. We don't have any pressing issues to go over, so it should be a relatively brief call.

Yesterday's picnic was a success despite leaden skies and intermittent light rain. The shelters did their job, keeping everyone dry and affording places to sit, eat, and visit, so only the open-air games were called off.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Martin. 75F on the dog walk with a moon so bright it washed out the stars. other then the moon (and two Tucson P.D. drones) the sky was just kind of blank. still a good walk.
have gym this morning and nothing planed for the afternoon as it's going to hit 101F. looks like an inside the house day. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's cloudy and 57, going to 66 with a slight chance of a shower.

Yesterday's car event went well, although it was lightly attended, especially compaired to the two previous days.

Today, I'll likely swing over to my friend's restaurant, hit the gym, and begin packing for the trip North, later this week.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Thanks Martin, I need a first- fill before I need a refill, it's dripping through in the kitchen. But you have "spare" cams lying around? That's some kind of dedication tour 1100!
I don't have spare anything by way of motor parts for my bikes. Then again, I haven't been into the motor of any of them, either. Uncle Phil's 4 spare parts bike come to mind.
Speaking of, he hobbled over to John's table for Saturday's Nashcat RTE, and boy did we eat! Crazy caveman carnivore feast, with tender brisket and pulled pork.
My fear of all day rain never materialized, the ride up was cloudy but dry, then it rained after we started eating (we were dry under his pop-up canopy.) I left at 2:30-ish as the rain was tapering off, and it stopped 20 minutes later, so the ride home was no drama, and nice. Kaiser stayed home.
On the way home I stopped at a friend's house where 2 buddies were sharing their birthday parties. About 12 people all together, and they catered dinner. I didn't eat a bite, but helped drink 2 pots of coffee.
Good weekend, learned @beemerphile has a daughter who lives a few minutes from me.
I'm just now recovering from a carnivorous near-coma. Thanks again John!
Nothing done on the mower, but soon.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks, Martin.

I slept later this morning, still recovering from the attack of 15 meat-eating carnivores on Saturday. It’s a beautiful morning with 70 degrees and a slight southernly breeze. High of 83, with thunderstorms expected around 4:00 PM.

John

Thanks for the coffee Martin. Well, amazingly, Chief of Staff made an early visit to the dentist to see if she could get an appointment... offered her 12 o'clock today and now she's all fixed up, so that's all clear for our much amended trip to the Germanic speaking world... yeehaa.... now what am I going to do for the next week....

Mornin' y'all...can't say it's good quite yet as last night was not pleasant. The vaccine I got hit me late last night, relegating me to the couch...couldn't even make it upstairs. As a result, the Prince or Purrrsia thought that I was there for his kneading and 0420 in the morning brekkie servitude. He learned about the wet end of the squirt bottle after I finally got the gumption to get up and get it in my hands. So, the extra coffee will be very much needed today to wash down some Excedrin (Anadrin to you Brits), thank you!

Today is WFH along with some garage work to get more mowers done and outta here. My next basket case will be an interesting one, a Poulan that has a broken bolt hole cast that holds the muffler on. I can get a head for $22 but it really isn't worth very much to put a lot into it. I might try using those "aluminum welding" rods to reattach it. Been curious if it would work. It's not in a critical area so a good candidate. Later on I have rehearsal. Welp, time to get my hustle on so take care y'all!

@jdmccright I don't know if this would help your broken Poulan, but I've learned a LOT from some YouTube channels for small engine repair, including my fave Chickanic. and <powerMan1. There are lots of them out there, and fb groups too. Some are geared to professional small engine shops, some are just tweakers.
(Of course, I still haven't found the one video to address my John Deere problem... I'm dense.)
I have a basket case Poulan as a future project too, but it's likely not as busticated as what you describe....
EDIT: 2nd YT should be MowerMan1.

I started fixing them up during the pandemic as a paid hobby. Yes, I've learned a lot from Google, YT, and FB groups. Steve's Small Engine Saloon is one I frequent. Tarryl annoys me to no end but sometimes he comes through. Overall, I can usually turn a profit from resurrecting other's roadside castaways, but mostly I enjoy the challenge.

Wish I could help you with the JD. I dabble in riders but don't have the space to work on them a lot. I'd be happy to trade ideas if you're needing a sounding board.

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 75F, heading for 87F (it's going to be a HOT one). A slight breeze now, but later, we'll see the winds from the NNE @ 9 to 12mph. The afternoon thunderstorms will reform, but we won't know if we get any wetstuff, until it hits the ground.

Yesterday day was recovery day from our trip. Today starts the get back to doing things. I'll trim and mow the lawns, then attack all the weeds that have popped up in the last two weeks! So, I'll be busy. Maybe tomorrow, I'll be able to start stripping off the Tupperware on the :bl13:, to see what's going on with it.

Eggs, bacon, toast and since we ran out of OJ, I had a Pepsi to wash it all down.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! Sunny and warm here today. 19C right now, high of 23C predicted but it feels like it might get higher.

Spent the weekend puttering here and fritzing around there. Not much exciting to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I'd stocked up already a couple of years ago over the slight "coffee grinder noise" of those reduction gears, which is the first symptom of weakened springs...
