Yet another leak thread but I have not come across this one before.
After returning from a trip to the UK last weekend, I went to wash the bike the day after. I noticed the front of the engine was very black with oil/dirt stains. Also the front end of the sump was damp with oil.
It had gotten dirty before but could take months to get a bit dirty again after cleaning.
I took the fairings off and could see a definite stain from the square hole so logged in here to get some opinions.
Then started stripping.
Its def not the rocker covers/rubber mat. See the photos below, there was a lot of oily dirt in the vee.
What I am thinking now is that the o ring around the alternator is the issue.
