Thanks, Mac.
Yesterday was a dud, trying to diagnose a constant surging problem on the JD riding mower.
Basically took off the carb and intake manifold, cleaned the already clean carburetor, and repeated the process a couple of times. After reinstalling the carb on one occasion, I realized I forgot to put the float back in.
Well, that won't work.
Doesn't most of the afternoon on it, accomplished essentially nothing, and at the end of it all, now it won't start. It cranks just fine, the fuel pump spits out gas, but it will not catch and run.
At one point, my next door neighbor dropped by and asked, "are you breaking it, or fixing it?"
Sitting on my driveway, surrounded by tools and all the parts I'd removed, I looked at him and grinned... YEP!
ah, fun times, wasting time.
Now it's sitting in the driveway, in a driving, noisy, very wet thunderstorm. I can't move it... it has a hydrostatic transmission, so I can't just put it in neutral and push it back under the deck.
Good morning everyone, hope you can get done what you want to get done.
Or get nothing done, too, if that's your plan.
