That schematic says ST1100A and I have a non-ABS...
I do not think they are the same... (but I could easily be wrong!).

The ones in my office waiting to go into my 1997 ST 1100 non-ABS are 06435-MT3-405.

I'm not the bible on this, but that's what I ordered.

Thanks all.
I edited the 1st post so they are now available...

Mark, the USA 92-95 ABS models use the same pad as the standard models. Your ABS part numbers above are for the USA 96-02 ABSII/TCS/LBS model years only.

When in doubt, always check the remote desktop microfiches at Service Honda (or at your local dealer): link to Service Honda fiches' start page

Confused on fitment.

For the rear of a '93 ST1100, shows
STD Rear - 06435-MT3-405

Out of 4 Honda dealers not far from here, none stock these, and none remember the last time they did.

Here is where confusion sets in.
Part number seems to only be for the ST1100.
However, if you look up EBC or DP, you will see that their same rear part number fits more than a dozen or two different models. So, is it possible that Honda dealers are using a common, more popular part number for service, (such as off an newer VFR, VTX or GL) and if so, any idea what that would be? Google EBC FA196HH for an example of what crosses to these pads.

Any other Honda OEM "more common" pads substituted by others here?

I switched from OEM rear to DP HH++ rear, which stopped great, but only lasted about 12,000 miles, compared with the plenty left OEM's at 24,000 miles. Might give EBC HH a try if I can't get locally stocked OEM.

CORRECTION, found original packing and the DP rear was not HH++, but instead normal stock type rear pads.

EBC designed their pads to fit more bikes specs...
From what I have read the OEM pads are the way to go on the st1100s...

Thanks Mark, but not looking good here for local OEM.

Just got word from another Honda Dealership that has been around forever, and they do not stock any Honda OEM brake pads. Only carry EBC now. Honda OEM requires ordering. Looks like mail order is only way left for OEM, and I have had about a 20% wrong part in package problem with Honda Parts, plus waiting 1 to 3 weeks, so will go aftermarket if mail order, and know I will get parts within a day or two.

I know about mail order... the closest Honda to me doesn't carry anything in stock and charges $$ for every special order. They DO NOT get ANY of my business. I'll ride an extra 30 miles, one way, to buy a $2.00 screw.

I haven't gotten the wrong part yet from Zanotti Brothers; but, I understand if you have...

I have a 2002 ST1100 ABS model (Canadian) and called a dealer in Northwest Washington, he didn't even show
that Honda made a ST1100 in 2002, only ST1300's.

I am looking for front and rear pads but I am wondering about the difference between the front and rear pads.
The part numbers from Honda (as shown above) are slightly different from the front to the rear, but the EBC part
numbers are the same for front and back. FA261HH

EDIT: Looks like the OEM rear pads are thicker than the front ones. I read that on the
forum here somewhere...

Has anyone put the EBC pads on their ABS model bike? Are they exactly the same pad - front and back?

Honda sold the ST1100 police model longer than the civilian model; hence the dealer confusion.

You can use the EBC pads; but, the consensus (Wisdom of the List) was/is Honda pads; work well, last well and don't kill rotors as often as other brand brake pads.

Thats about right. I have used the sintered performance pads, and they do wear the rotors quicker and don't last as long, but the payback is a lot better braking performance. Aftermarket organic pads work about the same as OEM wear wise, which is what I am using at the moment, but I do miss the extra bite..

Thanks for the reply. I have placed an order for OEM pads from ServiceHonda.com,
The order was $30 cheaper than buying EBC pads from a local dealer (that's all they
stock locally here).

Did my front and rear brakes... whole job took about 10-15 minutes in the garage. I did have a little trouble with the outer plug on the rear brake. My screwdriver wasn't quite big enough and I almost ruined it. I popped over to the local dealer and the mechanic there had it off with an impact driver in about 5 seconds.

Been riding for about 300 miles already and the OEM brakes feel great.

Congrats!

My OEM rear pads lasted almost 90,000 miles... the fronts, also OEM... not quite as long!
:)
