When I bought my ST1300P I got the civilian seat and the dual density foam police seat. This last weekend I modified the civilian seat with a 3D Inflatable Cushion that I got from Amazon for about $40.
After getting the air pressure just right I stripped the cover off from front to back on the civilian seat.
I then positioned it where I used to have it while riding and traced it out.

I then tackled removing foam with an electric carving knife I got for free from my brother.
This is the results of plastic gears vs. steel gears on extremely soft foam that doesn't want to cut.
I should've used a palm sander but didn't want to make a huge mess. Here it is sculpted out and ready for the cover to go back on after warming up in the sun.
. Next staple time.
And finished product.
. You can tell something is different but actually it still looks pretty much stock. I've ridden on it about 2 whole hours total now, and so far so good. I still have the police seat to fall back on if I hate it. Total investment less than $50.
