Does ATGATT Work

I was going to write about correlation, but you know, you're right. I wear that stuff because it's getting worse on the roads.
Of course I'm right, but you completely missed my correlation. :thumb:

I couldn't care less what you wear. It wasn't about what you wear, it was about your being amused by pissing other people on the road off and complaining about the result... "it amuses me when people refuse to overtake me, or when they read what it actually says on my jacket, and display their anger".

The correlation would be like my stating I am amused by posting argumentative replies then agreeing forum civility was getting worse. :rofl1:

I may not wear all the gear if doing a small commute from a campsite to the camp store or other destination in a campground but if I leave the campground I wear all my gear.
I wear mesh riding jacket , modular helmet, riding boots, riding gloves.
Normal everyday pants with Bohn body armor underneath.
As far as being visible - I tried the hi-viz vest and it reflected back from the windscreen and navi screen so bad I had trouble reading the instruments.
The thing I have noticed is since I installed the LED head lights to the bike I get more double takes by drivers wanting to pull out in front of me.

Then you appear to have mistaken my source of amusement.

Am I generally "pissing people off"? Nope. The only ones I'm aware of, are the ones that bother to gesticulate in my general direction. That's usually bikers that wave like monkeys. It amuses me because they must be aware that one can buy the items I wear or have on the bike. They either think I look like a chocolate biscuit, or they think I have inconvenienced them in some way - both of which make me laugh.

Then there's the car drivers that refuse to overtake me on dual-carriageway roads (and visibly stay further away from me than they do when I'm driving my car). This is despite the fact that I'm probably going slightly over the speed limit myself at the time. There's plenty of room for them to make a safe pass, but they don't. Are they annoyed? I don't have a clue - but it amuses me nonetheless.

The thing that's getting worse, is not even anyone's anger - I don't see more people being angry at each other than I used to on the road. It's the inattention - I do see more people driving around with blinkers on. And it's because of that fact, that I take more precautions (including, but not limited to the choice of clothing) compared to my younger days.

I was hit in 2005 on my brand new ST1300, I had it for 2 weeks. The guy took my right away, I almost missed him... maybe an inch more lean and I would have cleared him... but I clipped his rear bumper and over I went. I had slowed down so much I just walked the bike and laid her down. My gear played no difference in my accident... herniated L5/S1.

I was rear ended on my C14 in 2010(?) on I-25... major stoppie, blew both my hardbags off the bike... again, my gear played no difference in my accident.

My mom and her husband were out riding in NC... helmet laws there. Carl was up ahead of her when he was struck by a dump truck... his head was crushed w/ a helmet on. My mom hasn't ridden since. His gear made no difference in his accident.

I've pretty much worn a white helmet for years... all modular. With lights on behind a car, all they see is that white helmet... you know who cruises the roads wearing white helmets giving out performance awards? I wear hi-viz jackets, my Motoport Kevlar mesh, my Olympia, or my new black mesh w/ hi-viz orange stripes. I don't tend to ride black bikes... red being my favorite, eye catching green this time around.

I'm MOTGMOTT these days. I'll always have gloves, boots, and a jacket of some sort on... helmet if it's not a local trip to a store for something.
