Do brake pads need cleaning? I've never.
Since I use mine to clean everything from motorcycle parts, life support stuff, and firearms, I want to keep the unit clean, so I fill it with water, and place whatever I want cleaned in plastic peanut butter jars, with whatever cleaner is called for that application.I recently read a comment by someone who stated that, to save cleaning fluid, he puts small items in a zip lock bag with a small amount of cleaning fluid instead of filling up the tank. Does that work?
It works but not quite as well since the ultrasonic action is somewhat dulled by the plastic membrane. It is a good technique to keep small parts together instead of loose in the bottom of the tank.I recently read a comment by someone who stated that, to save cleaning fluid, he puts small items in a zip lock bag with a small amount of cleaning fluid instead of filling up the tank. I have been casually looking in to buying one of these so I am just learning about them. I have read this as well, to the point that a cleaner with a steel basket works better than one with a plastic basket for the same reason. It works but not quite as well since the ultrasonic action is somewhat dulled by the plastic membrane.
Does this mean that this is more theoretical than practical and that the effect is overstated? Would glass jars work better?whatever I want cleaned in plastic peanut butter jars, with whatever cleaner is called for that application.
Works great!
Interesting. Maybe if you sous-vide it? Put the item in a small plastic bag with cleaning fluid and burp it so there's no air in the bag. Then fill the tank with enough water to cover the bag/item.I recently read a comment by someone who stated that, to save cleaning fluid, he puts small items in a zip lock bag with a small amount of cleaning fluid instead of filling up the tank. Can't argue with success, so I guess that settles that question- plastic jars work just fine.I found no need to do anything different
Me too!Just got a new toy.........
getting larger than smaller so I can use it for larger parts, which would require filling the tank
Me too!
I hope that your are still happy with this purchase because I just ordered the same one.
I had been looking around at different ones but this one is on sale today at Amazon Canada for $137.00 CDN. At that price I figured now is a good time.
