I still can't kneel on mine at 10 1/2 weeks post-op. But, I don't have any issues riding my motorcycles .... and as we all know, that is the important thing.Speaking of kneecaps, I can kneel on mine. I started getting used to it on the 2" foam mattress topper on my bed, and I was able to crawl on the padded table at P.T. I haven't tried a hard surface yet.
Absoloopy! My surgery was 12/3 and today is 12/29, so 26 days; less than 4 weeks. Not too shabby. But, I don't have any issues riding my motorcycles .... and as we all know, that is the important thing.
My knee replacement is cemented due to bone density, so was fully bonded when completed. The only worry I would have riding so soon is if you end up over stressing the knee trying to hold the bike up, or just a minor tip over, is whether bone to metal bond is fully developed yet. Normal circumstances won’t challenge that bond.
Time that you start a thread about your impressions of the ST1100 vs the ST1300. Since you are riding both at the same time the differences are not a matter of relying on memory. What a nice-looking bike.
Good to know. Many knee (and other orthopedic) implants have a porous surface that is intended to allow the ingrowth of bone between the spaces in the sintered material. This produces a really strong mechanical lock between the implant and the bone. The bone however needs some time to infiltrate and integrate with the metal implant. This is the process I am referring to. The Zimmer Persona Knee that I have is of such a design. My knee replacement is cemented due to bone density, so was fully bonded when completed.
The X-rays taken on Friday showed no bonding problems, and everything looks as expected.
"Captain Kirk! I shall consider it!"Time that you start a thread about your impressions of the ST1100 vs the ST1300. Since you are riding both at the same time the differences are not a matter of relying on memory.
That's the hardest part. Need to keep pulling your heel toward your butt when you're sitting around.Knee is still a little tight trying to bend back far enough to get the ball of my right foot up on the peg.
Outstanding! The apprehension and fear of the pain can be more debilitating than the pain itself.Overall a successful re-entry!
The only new thing I have to report is that I stopped regular taking of all meds over a week ago.
I will take a Naproxin or a couple of Tylenol for a long and/or busy day, like before and after P.T.
