... essentially covers with my own theory, I came up with while learning to ride bicycles, skates, skiing or attempted to run soapbox cars:

Our senses & reaction abilities are basically suited to walking speed... only...
(wanna proof me wrong? Just try to run through some natural patch of wood- or grassland, unlike a rabbit or deer you'll likely flat-face or at least twist your ankle within a few yards...)
On the road, traveling at speeds up to 100mph and more we've to look way ahead to compensate that slow CPU processing speed of our, 2 million year old brain...

A deep dive is reading The Upper Half Of The Motorcycle by Bernt Spiegel. The subtitle is "On The Unity Of Rider and Machine."

I met my primary care doctor about 20 years ago when he was just starting his practice. (Bunny trail thought...why do they call it "practice"?)

Anyway, the patient questionnaire asked how much coffee I drink per day. I put down "1". When he got to that question, his face brightened and he said, "One cup a day?" I replied, "No, one pot a day." He sagged visibly in the chair. I don't think that was the answer he was hoping for.

Backoff and give them room, just incase!
Are they limos or mini-cars?
I'm thinking more of tailgaters. Several times in the last week, while on interstates in heavy traffic cars have sat on my tail that has been moving at supralegal speed. I'm old school and tend to adhere to the one car length space per 10mph, and I don't sit in the fast lane cruising slower than traffic. When there are enough cars on the road that I cannot easily pull to the right to let someone pass, I sit tight, but most of the drivers seem to think 2 car lengths is sufficient space at 60 and up mph.
