Saturday coffee and weather

Good morning, all. Thanks for the start Mac.

68/83, with torrential downpours at times. It’s dry, at the moment, so maybe I can feed everyone before the skies open up. The good news is that I just took the brisket off the smoker, and it looks great. The RTE started well, with 3 early birds that showed up yesterday. Pie is available, rain or shine.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Mac. 72F on the dog walk with a clear sky full of stars to view as we walked. not much on the table for today. I need to get the ST out for some miles before it gets hot. the high should see 99F. John, hope all goes well at your RTE. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Mac. I halfway expected you to be reporting the Theta, TN weather...

It's 70°F and just starting to rain in Rockville. We'll have off-and-on light rain until sometime around 1400 hours, and a high of 83 humid degrees.

It's a busy day in the House of Fun today: first is a trip down to Virginia to return a trike given to Ms. Fun years ago; she doesn't use it and the original owner would like it back so it's going back where it came from. After that (about a 4 hour round trip) we're off to the Japanese ambassadorial residence for their annual picnic, around 1600 hours. Sometime in between all that I need to get some ukulele practice in (I've been slacking off lately) and also start pulling together the bits, bobs, and whatnots for our upcoming trip.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Mac!

Welp, I was wrong about the wind direction changing yesterday; turns out Montreal experienced the worst (yep, worst) air quality of any major city in the world on Friday and things don't look to be a whole lot better today and we're still under a very poor air quality warning. I believe it...I'm checking off a lot of the boxes on Environment Canada's list of possible symptoms from air pollution: itchy eyes, check; stuffed-up sinuses, check; sneezing, check; persistent cough, check. Not wheezing so far, and I hope I don't start. Wish I had an air purifier, but I don't, and I'm not likely to be able to get one any time soon - I'll bet every hardware store in the province is sold out of them! Sigh (*cough* *cough*), this, too, shall pass.
Today we have haze (ya think?) with temps ranging from 18°C/64°F to 26°C/79°F (feels-like of 29°C/84°F) and a 40% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.

Right, I'm off to get some fresh air...not. Everybody have a great day, stay safe, go safely and if you're anywhere near wildfire smoke, keep your windows closed.

Patty

Good morning all!
Thanks for the start Mac!

John, I hope the rain takes a detour & doesn’t rain on your RTE!

We are experiencing the smoke as well Patty, however, my heart goes out to the people that have lost so much!
We are just having an inconvenience, nothing like losing your home and having your life’s work destroyed!

57/72 F with a NNE breeze.
Enjoy your weekend!

How is your foot wound healing?
Is it still an open wound?

Thank you for the coffee Mac. Need it today. We were supposed to be on a ferry tonight across to The Netherlands en-route to Germany, the Danube, Vienna, a sidecar championship round in Hugary and then home via Salzburg. However, a couple of days ago we were presented with a minor family crisis that seemed that it would require our presence. So, cancelled the ferry and all the hotels just before cancellation costs started being incurred! Then, later on the very same day we were advised that the crisis wasn't happening ... aaaaargh

Still, no problem, we just revisited our trip and taking out the Hungarian bit, rebooked the ferry (at a higher cost!) for this coming Monday 9th June. Managed also to get the original city hotels rebooked again, just with a slightly changed timescale....... all good until.... this morning Chief of Staff was brushing her teeth using one of these new fangled electric toothbrushes (I'm still analogue) when she had a tooth repair break.... SERIOUSLY ..... off to our dentist to see if anything could be done.... no Saturday opening this week...

So, lets see, decision made, we'll delay the trip by a week (one of the benefits of being retired) to allow the chance of a tooth fix. Back onto the ferry booking page, yep you can amend the crossing, same cabins, same day but a week later and 70 Euros cheaper! Back onto Booking.com and all the hotels amended, some cheaper but one an extra 100 Euros for a two night stay (but it was amazingly cheap on the original dates) so on balance the cost has stayed roughly the same. Just fingers crossed that nothing else untoward happens over the next 8 days

Actually, I might scrub the coffee and get a cold one out of the fridge ;)

Good Morning. 67 F at 10:17 , high of 77 later today, Sunny with scattered clouds. Going to be a busy afternoon, once Sharon gets back from Ballet class . Need Water and Some groceries, plus we have to take Precious to the Vet, little one has been coughing severely for to long. This morning I have to Google research a few things. So Y'all have a good day G

Late morning Mac & All from a nice sunny "morning" in Southern Utah!

Currently it's 81F, heading for 83F. And we expect a repeat of yesterday, when the thunderstorms formed in the afternoon and left us with 2/3" of rain in a short time span.

The river that was a road!

But thanks to my French Drains, all the water in my back yard, was gone a short time later. :hat3:

Today, I'll be playing musical motorcycles. I need to put the :bl13: on the lift again to check out that coolant smell. Which means the :dr13: will go to the back of the garage, and the AZ05, comes off the lift and will have to sit, next to the lift. But, first I got to get out there to do it, before the rains come!

Breakfast was eggs, bacon, toast & OJ. Pepsi(s) on the lunch menu!

Anyone :dr13: or :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

@Whisker Bill: As Andrew says, I’m pretty much fine and walking almost normally, and yes, He did indeed take me out to lunch the other day. :) Thanks again, my friend, it was great to see you and your lovely bride and catch up, as always!
As for my foot, it’s still bandaged and still requires treatment because of a stubborn spot that has been refusing to heal (which led to a localized infection). They’ve been treating that with Flamazine (silver sulfadiazine cream), a product routinely used on burns. Seems to be working…the quarter-sized “problem” area is now smaller than a dime. Next check-up/dressing change is Monday. With any luck, all the bandages should be gone in a week or so, 3 months after the accident.

Good to hear that you're doing better, burns can be hard to heal, one thing I found I can't watch Videos of burn victims. Back in 96 was taking 2nd year or 3rd year Automotive class, teacher put on a video of a line Worker that got 90% of his body burnt when the transformer exploded and flooded the bucket he was in, well you would think after twenty years I would have gotten over the memory, ended up leaving the room and fainted in the hallway. Oh yeah the Line Worker lived so the teacher told me later. Any way my prayers your way,G

Well our trip to the Vet with Precious was of course expensive,500+ dollars. Little girl has a large heart and restricted airway to her lungs,we got some antibiotics to clear up any infection. X-ray was taken and interesting to see. Were advised not to let her be to active, and enjoy the time we have left with her.

They are family!
It certainly hurts like the dickens, when they leave us!
