So I rebuilt the fuel valve with a new kit, following a video I came across - but it doesn't appear to be working, no idea why (it's a pretty simple device, I don't see many places where it could fail). The valve itself is simply not seating, and air passes in the inlet and right out. The spring seems way too weak to provide the pressure necessary to hold the rubber piece in the seat - with it partially assembled I can hold it in place and the valve seats, no air goes through. I must be missing something obvious here. I'm tempted to just go back to bypassing the valve, and move on.
