... Orwell's aeon ...

The most patronized intervening/mandatory ISA constrains the fuel injection to prevent speeding...

Of course will this increase vehicle prices... and, fueled by the fact that the cars are constantly online, such raises the uncomfortable idea that they all can be stopped by a "simple push of a button"...

Remind me not to buy a new vehicle for the rest of my life. my 2021 pickup and my 2017 wrangler have more than enough nanny electronics for my liking.
My sentiments exactly...
My car is a '96 and doesn't feature any onboard data collection (except engine sensor errors stored in the ECU)...

And for bikes: acceleration is/can be an evasive maneuver... governing that will increase risks...

Forget ISA. One local community (suburb) recently put up speed cameras on its streets. Another neighboring burb just passed legislation and will be doing the same. One friend drove through that first at what was the common speed (it was a 7 to 10% down hill where speeds were 55 in a 45mph zone) and was rewarded with a $150 commendation*. Since the communities get a % of the take (the camera companies do all the billing) I see this creeping like invasive garlic mustard or wild grape. With satellites, how long before cameras are found on interstates?

* In the negative sense.

In NJ they made speed and red light cameras illegal. Still old-fashioned cruisers. So if under 10 over you may not be pulled

This will reduce the revenue of some municipalities from tickets.
This is the biggest impediment to implementing speed controls. The cops actually _want_ you to speed. Why else do they hide and pull other sneaky maneuvers?

I was pulled over and chewed out once for giving the top of the helmet tap to warn oncoming bikes of a cop I’d just passed on the shoulder. I should have noticed he’d pulled out behind me a car back.☹️
