Good morning everyone on this Friday of Easter weekend

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it.

There's French roast in the pot, freshly brewed from freshly ground beans. Have a cup , relax for a spell, and enjoy.

It's 44°F and clear in Rockville, and should be a beautiful day: sunny skies and a high of 78 are the prediction.

We're headed north to Mrs. Fun's sister's place in Lansdale PA, leaving mid-morning and returning home next Thursday afternoon. It's primarily a working visit but I'm not real clear what the work will be. Oh well, I accumulate karma and, more importantly, good brownie points with Mrs. Fun for cooperating and helping out.

A tree crew took down two large oak trees in a neighbor's back yard yesterday evening, providing a few hours of free-t-everyone-except-the-homeowner entertainment for the court. It really was something to see, and the photos of the roots showed why it was necessary: one tree was one gust of wind on a wet day away from coming down on its own, and the other was dead and beginning to drop big limbs without warning or provocation.

Goof yesterday didn't feature any aerial combat, but I could see tangible and positive results from the lesson I had on Tuesday, so that was a good feeling. I'm not expecting an invitation to join the Senior PGA Tour, mind you, but it's good to play at least a tiny bit better (it would've been difficult to play much worse than I had been, mind you).

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

29F here this morning under partly cloudy skies, heading maybe to 64F with the clouds becoming more solid.

It is impressive to watch a good timber crew work. Unless someone (like myself) has spent a fair amount of time in the woods with a chainsaw you really don't understand and appreciate the forces that awaken when the saw starts cutting.

I am heading out in a few minutes to my eldest's house. He is supposed to get a truckload of dirt delivered and it is my task to make sure that if a substantial amount lands on his driveway to clear it away (using my tractor of course) so his wife can get her car out for that kids-school-dropoff-pickup stuff. Then a haircut and if necessary a return to pretty up the dirt pile and some lugging ang tugging my son wants done while the tractor is visiting.

Stay safe, be careful and if logging - watch for those widow makers!

A beach walk.
Then sushi at the inlaws place. Nice not to cook today. Yesterdays cooking took forever.

good morning all. thank you for the coffee Keith. 58F on the dog walk with clear sky, a bright moon and a chilly breeze. chilly enough that when I went for the second walk with dog #2 I added a jacket. all in all still a nice walk. I have gym this morning and nothing for the afternoon so I'll just sit back and see what happens. the high temp should be 72F. cooling down from the first part of the week. enjoy the day

Good morning, everyone, and thanks to Keith and Martin for the double pot to start the day.

It's 32f/0c here in MA this morning, under a sunny sky.
It'll become partly cloudy this afternoon, and the temperature should rise to 65f/18c.

I did the gym thing, but not before finding out that the Wing wouldn't start for the trip. :(
I rode the VFR instead, and eventually investigated the battery on the wing. I had a little over 12V at the battery, until I turned the bike "on". The voltage dropped to 10-ish volts, and when I pressed the start button, the voltage dropped further to around 8V. I put the battery on the charger, and moved on with my day.
The battery showed "charged" later in the day, so we'll see what today brings.

Brenda and I went to Walmart to get some child-proof cabinet and door locks, to install before our granddaughter, Elouise, comes over on Sunday. I installed the door lock on the cellar door, and will add some locks to various cabinets, today. They'll probably remain, until her little brother-to-be is old enough to keep out.
Of course, we couldn't leave Walmart without some goodies for Elouise, and Peeps for both of us!:giggle:

Today, I'll head over to the gym, and maybe rake the twigs from the yard.
The neighbor's pup hasn't been out for a walk this week, either.

It's a lovely, sunny morning here, but we're in for rain as of around 2 p.m. and it looks like tomorrow's going to be soggy. Today's temperature range is 2°C/36°F to 13°C/55°F.
I must call the clinic as soon as they open - when they made my appointments for this week, they said they had no availability for Friday yet but that they would call me with a time. No one has called me, so I'd best check myself. Doesn't matter if I go tomorrow rather than today, but it would not be a good idea to go more than 3 days without a dressing change.

Thanks for the coffees ☕️ plural, Martin and Keith. It's been too long since I worked with Linux, for me to be any help. I've no doubt your stubbornness, ummm, I mean, your persistence, will ultimately win out.

Last night Kaiser and I went to a local bike shop's first bike night of the season, and he was a huge hit. Quite well behaved, but as I suspected there were lots of machines in competition for who had the loudest ghetto blasters. Pretty sure Kaiser didn't like it, and I know for sure i didn't. Could hardly hear what anyone was saying due to the amped-up noise, and it didn't even sound like music.

We walked around the crowded parking lot, and saw one guy i knew, and as more riders joined in to overwhelm the parking area, I realized we could soon be blocked in. The paved area is usually quite large, at least until you add 300+ bikes and riders. It can be challenging to back up a bike towing a trailer, at least with no Reverse gear, so as more bikes began to park around us, I decided to vamoose after about 40 minutes. No pictures, as it was getting dark, and I don't like Kaiser's red devil-eyes look with flash.**

No free eats like some bike nights, and their Mexican food truck looked to have raised the prices just for this event. I passed, and don't feel like I missed anything.

Tonight I'll push buttons to broadcast our Good Friday service to the world wide web, and tomorrow night we will attend a Passover Seder elsewhere.

And this weekend will be warm and cloudy, only 10% chance for rain, is what we're told.

Therefore, a large burst of light reaches their retinas, reflects back, and is captured on film.

Eyes look red in photos due to the rich blood supply of the choroid , a layer of connective tissue at the back of the eye that nourishes the retina and gives it its normal red color.
 
Good morning, Happy Easter. Checking in from Beautiful Birch Bay this Sunny morning. Phone says 45 F with a high of 59 F ,clouding over this afternoon. Didn't expect to be able to get Internet here at the resort, but using my iPhone as a hotspot for my tablet so I can see y'all here. Anniversary celebration yesterday night went okay, we were planning to go for dinner but my stupid stomach decided to hurt again. Was only able to eat at 10 o'clock in the evening, so had some chicken noodle soup and some New York cheesecake and a Mango drink. Did manage a good drive around Semiahmoo Resort, Wife suggested bring the VW Dune buggy down here for the Summer,I agree with her. Well guess I should go make breakfast, have a good day and thanks for Coffee and Comics Guys, cheers G
 
Morning Martin, Keith & All from a cloudy, with a little Sun, in Southern Utah!

We actually got about a .10" of rain yesterday. They are calling for "possible" snow, at some point. Currently it is 43F, up from 30F and heading for 43F! I though this was Spring? :shrug2:
We have a breeze blowing through, but later the winds will be from the N@ 15 to 29mph.

I was looking through my Home Depot receipt, when I realized that the cashier had charged me for 6 plants, @ $59.98 apiece, instead of 5. So Chris and I stopped there, got it corrected, and then went and got a hamburger. That was the excitement of the day! :rolleyes:

The mind hamsters decided I needed to wake up around 3:30 AM or so, and wouldn't let me get back to sleep until after 6AM! :censored: I crawled out of bed after 10AM. Apparently, Chris had some of the same problem. :(

Lazyman's breakfast, Pepsi(s) later, for sure!

G'mornin' afternoon from SoMD Florida! Sorry I missed out on the free joe, but I'm enjoying trying to break the Nespresso machine here at the MIL's house. Which I learned uses recyclable aluminum pods...if you bother to cut them open, remove the grounds, and clean them. Thanks, guys!

Today has so far been very nice weather. Driving around with the windows down and half the pollen back home. And I can wear shorts! Wish I had the ST here...

No plans for the day except what the MIL decides must be done or must be talked about. An initial survey of the house didn't show anything needing repair. The back porch pavers need resetting/leveling but unsure I want to tackle that this time. She has plenty of tech issues for me to sort out per her sons (they don't want to deal with it so, hey, pawn it off to the SIL).

Its more inserting of coins though...

€ 330- for a new NAS (gave it 3 attempts last night no avail... dead as a doorstop... a € 300- doorstop though), plus a UPS to dampen any power surges/fluctuations...
But how big of a UPS should it be? Enough VA to handle also the Ricoh laser printer? That's gonna cost...
Currently eyeballing a 600VA 360W unit... another € 55,-... and likely requiring new batteries every two years... :rolleyes:
But it'll handle the DSL modem, firewall router and the NAS...
