Some of you may know my wife Brenda is 11 weeks through an initial 18 weeks of chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Yesterday her left arm and hand began to hurt and swell and today a procedure to open and obtain fluid samples for a suspected infection is scheduled. The pain is a 10 out of 10. With a suppressed immune response from chemo an infection cannot get out of control. Please lift her up along with the staff of the hospital treating her. Thanks for every one of you.

Hate to ask, but I assume they checked for a DVT in the arm, assuming her port is on that side (only asking because it happened to my wife post chemo years ago).

In the ER last night IR did several imaging tests but staff never talked about a DVT that I heard. Her port is on that side.

Call your doctor and demand that they check for DVT.
This can be life threatening!
