New Member - Looking For An ST Purchase

Well , due to work load, only 300+ miles so far feeling out this new ride ! Absolutely love it and now that I have it you can't believe the guys who want me to sell my '12 DL1000 VStrom to them ! Who needs 2 bikes right?? Nope , Not selling ! I need 2 bikes! More if I could afford it actually!
Well new bike update : Did a recent short 70 mile loop and nearing the almost home part the clutch felt just somewhat weak to the feel like it was just barely even half the feel . Went to ride it yesterday and clutch lever pulled in felt obviously not even there or barely disengaging . Warmed her up and put in 1st gear and just stalled out with no clutch .
Talked to a few guys and my shop guy and previous owner as well and all opinions seemed to center around the Hydraulics and needing to be bled out ,hopefully , which would be the least expensive fix hopefully. The Clutch Slave had been changed out by previous owner so I can only assume fluid too, maybe now just needing to be bled again, I hope . Anybody out there with any input with this I'd appreciate your knowledge !

My first thought would be the Slave failing. Did the PO have a receipt for changing it? If not, and unless you know and trust the PO, I would not take his word that the Slave has been changed. Take a look at the Clutch master cylinder fluid level and color, there is a window where you can see the fluid level. Does it look clean or is it brown or dark in color. Try flushing the system out and put in new fluid and see if that solves the problem. If not, its time to pull the Clutch Slave and at least clean it.

Thx B., Owner more than trusted to me.I reached out to him and he actually called his Bike Mech. right away to look into this. BTW , I'd eat a sandwich off his garage floor ! Thx for the advice and hope to do some visualls after work later! Thx

Good luck in getting it sorted. Whereabouts in Berkshire are you as I lived in Wokingham & Sandhurst for 10 years and worked in several bike shops in the area - Keith Manning Motorcycles and Wokingham Suukiserv were the longest and best.

Western Ma., Stockbridge just about on NY border

In the USA, '05, '08 & '09.
The red on the '05 was different than that used on the '08 & '09.
I have an 08 . The red color is closer to a Candy Apple red than other reds on ST's that I have seen. Honda calls it Candy Glory Red
