Pants Recommendations on Pants Needed

FWIW my inseam is 29” at 5’ 6” tall. I am ok with riding pants too long as long as the armour is in the right places and the waist is comfortable. It’s always been hard to find pants or slacks that fit me well without having the length altered. In riding pants I’m always wearing boots so the extra length isn’t a dealbreaker.
 
Just bought some jeans and shoes from www.motorcyclecloseouts.com. I have Kevlar-lined jeans but my fatness has since required an upsize but didn't want to pay $200 for them. My first time with them so cannot quote on quality. But they had my size and price point. We'll see.

I haven't seen any "riding jeans" that I like, and certainly none with the hip and knee armor of specific riding britches.
The kevlar-type things may or may not spare us some road rash, but there's also the impact to consider, even in a slide.
Haven't ruled them out completely yet, but haven't seen any real innovation in them, either.

They have armour in the knees and hips as well as the protective material for a slide. It may be a moot point though. I found akarob over on ADVRider and he'll do the zipper replacement on the X-Moto pants for about $60 plus shipping. I'd like to have it NOW...but maybe God is just teaching me patience. :D

And the nice thing about Cycle Gear is being able to return everything easily.

FWIW - I'll ship those pants using PirateShip.com. They have a good reputation and I've used them once already with no issues. The cost is significantly less than taking your package to the Post Office or UPS.

I have some Iron Workers kevlar jeans but must confess I dont wear them very often. They have knee armor but unfortunately no hip armor.

I have been looking for mesh "overpants" like my Tour Master pants that zip down the leg to be able to wear over my jeans. I can't seem to find many "overpants" style anymore.

I normally wear Aerostich Dariens over my jeans. They go in a bag when I'm off the bike.

I hadn't realized before reading here, that Olympia isn't in business now.
The mesh pants i have by them may be 15 years old, and the full length leg zippers set them apart from all my other pants.
Somebody needs to get on the ball, and offer some.
 
I'm not sure what is going on with Olympia. They were highly successful, then I heard they were sold to a Canadian holding company. For a couple years, you could get nothing hardly from them. It seemed like they bought the company, then ran it into the ground.

I almost always use a VPN. One of the things I can do with it, is change which server I'm connected to. So when I search using the Seattle server for "Olympia Motorsports", I get Revzilla and not much else worth dealing with. When I change to a server in Vancouver, BC, I get Canadian offerings. Including the hope page for Olympia motorsports.

The Motovan outlet in Canada lists eight Olympia pants. All are the Airglide in Black. Seven are women's sizes, and one men's. Revzilla in the US has all their Olympia clothing on Closeout.

It's a shame to see what happened to a great company.

Maple syrup is incredible! One taste and that old stuff I grew up with is ...well, ugh. :)

I hope you weren't thinking I was dissing Canada in that post. I wasn't. What happened with Olympia has happened to hundreds or thousands of companies over the years. We're just affected by this sale and the results.

Still searching for a pair of Riding pants in size 34/36 , that doesn't break the bank account. Blasted long legs and Sinky body style have their blessings and curses. Funny thing,was at London Drugs with the wife and she finds me and asks if I can get something off the top shelf for another customer, seems like the store clerk,wife and Woman customer are all about 5 ft nothing, so yeah, no problem.

Yep, happens often. Just dont climb Home Depots ladders... ask me how I know...lol
 
Just scored some Olympia Airglide 6 pants from Tripleclamp.
I will need to upgrade the armour a bit but I can swap out from other pants I have on an as need basis.
