Re: ST1300 - Ground Connector/Wire Harness (Bike Year: 2003)
took my 2003 st in for recall march 2012 and still blowing fuel pump fuses any advice?

This picture is of my 2006 hanger queen but my 2005 is the same. There is no separate pink connector just the one yellow connector just to the left of center. It seems to gather numerous grounds to one bus and then the harness leads it and other ground wires to the lug on the frame. The yellow connector on an assembled ST1300 is located in the area above and behind the right head light.I know this recall doesn't apply to the 2005, but is there a similar pink ground cap assembly for the 2005 models or did they completely redesign the harness in this respect? Can anyone describe the changes, better yet photos of the change (not the repair that was used for the '03 and '04 models. Thanks
Has anyone had a problem with the yellow cap next to the pink ground cap.
Could the wires be bared and jointed and soldered into one package or is that a no no .
This 14 pin (Ground Cap) plastic connector that brings all the ground wires together. I had one of the connections in there that melted part of the 14 pin ground cap just like yours.I'm glad I found this thread, mine is a 2002 ST1300 which died 6 months ago, and finally found a burnt connection. All efforts to contact Honda UK have been in vain, and the VIN doesn't show any recalls. Does this mean I have to replace all the wiring at my own cost?
Did you add dielectric grease to stop corrosion ? I’ve had similar grounding issues on my SUV. I’ve started using the grease just to prevent water ingress. Copper is awful for corrosion. This 14 pin (Ground Cap) plastic connector that brings all the ground wires together. I cut and removed all of the ground wires from the ground cap and crimped round eyelets onto the wires, then used 2 brass 10/32 bolts to join all the eyelets together.
Sorry never took a picture of my round electrical connection eyelets all together on the 2 brass bolts.
This also fixes the same problem, see post 65 on this link.

I had the same problem on the way to NatStoc in 2012. The dealer near Omaha Nebraska found a major connection in the wiring harness had fried, melted. The place in question was below the throttle body. I saw it when they replaced it. The stealer also said there was a recall on the harness in...www.st-owners.com
My 2002 ST1300 flashed up an outstanding recall at last years MOT, I took it to the dealer who did the linked brake check (non-ABS) and said all good, I checked with Honda UK website and the VIN number states I still have an outstanding recall for
