I had my stocker redone by Spencer and use an airvent pad and so far has been great for many thousands of miles. On my FJR, Spencer just did the LD package with supracore (about $75) and it is much better than stock. I am only using the Alaska sheep skin butt pad over it and seems good to go. I still have to put some long days in to really see.

Just wondering if the people with these Freedom Air Cushions are still happy with them . I just sold my first born ( didn't want her anyway ) to buy one and I'm praying it'll do the job . This will be my fourth attempt at finding a solution to the ST's sadistic torture device that they refer to as a seat . I've done the Spencer thing which helped but wasn't really the answer . I bought a Soft Bottom gel cushion . Not much help there . Bought a Butt Pad which at this moment is the best of the bunch but I'm still looking for something that will allow me to spend long days in the saddle without feeling like you've been kicked in the butt by a mule . I know that an after market seat might be the answer but they're expensive and there's the possibility that they won't be any better than the stocker . I can see how the Russell Day Long might be comfortable but I can't wrap my head around the size and shape of those things and how they change the over all look of the bike. So , if you have one of these Freedom Air cushions , humour me and tell me how much you love it . Make me feel better about selling my kid .:shrug1:
 
Having ridden 3000 miles in the last 8 days I too am looking for the latest and greatest in butt comfort. Considering the Freedom Air but will probally try the ventair first due to price. I see VentAir is out of production for awhile according to their website so I'll have to wait and see. I would appreciate any reviews on these two products.
 
I've used half a dozen different cushions. The ONLY one that was worth the money is the Freedom Air. I haven't tried the ventair, however, but I think the Freedom Air is worth the price compared to the other, less expensive cushions I've tried.

None of these cusions will match a custom made Russell, however.
 
Has anyone tried a Beadrider beaded seat pad? I need ventilation in this heat more than anything right now. Does the Alaska sheep skin seat pad keep your butt cool and dry in the summer. It seems like if anything it would add more heat than anything.

No argument from me. It becomes a question of what is "good enough" for the type and length of rides you do, and the tolerance of your butt. I haven't yet paid the bucks for a Russell, but if I ever get the time to do more long distance riding I probably will.

Ditto for me. I never could get comfortable on an Airhawk. It seemed (to me) to be better than the stock seat, but not that much better. I definitely prefer the Freedom Air cushion by a wide margin over stock or Airhawk.

As long as its just a personal opinion.....I own both the Freedom Air and The Airhawk.......yeah, Ive got that kind of money.:money1:

The Airhawk stays on my wing at all times, The Freedom Air is in a saddlebag.

The Freedom Air works better on a sportbike :sbs1:

But for MY Butt, the Airhawk coddles my codds just the way I like em.

dont waste your money on a cushion. get a sargent or a russel seat. Your arse will be forever grateful.... :D
 
In answer to the bead seat question I tried and didn't like it. Good airflow but was uncomfortable. Cheap enough to try though.

Hi. I'm looking at the Freedom Air web site. Which style did you get? How is the fit? I'm 6ft and 210lbs.

Good article explaining pros and cons of seat pads. I have a gel and use it every other stop just to change prerssure points (usually after about 6 hours).
