Good morning everyone

There's fresh hot French roast in the pot. You know where the cups and decorations are by now, please help yourselves.

First @nicksacco disappeared. Then @Upt' North and @Obo went on hiatus. This is a worrisome trend, although I'm glad @motomac is back among the faithful and it was good to see @George pop up the other day and I always enjoy hearing from @peterz and @sah48.

On to the weather. It's 39°F and clear in Rockville; I could verify the clear part even without stepping outside because I saw moonlight on the rec room floor as I trundled through on my way to make coffee. We'll have sunny skies and a high around 63, Windows tells me.

The day will get going in earnest later, when I head out for a round of goof followed immediately by the usual two hours of the weekly uke group meetup at a local musical instrument store. Online bridge this evening will round out the activities.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

G'Day...

yoh, the ranks are thinning...

12°/23°C today, quite windy, haze, partially cloudy, chances of rain in the afternoon & evening... the Shara dust warning is still out...

Office, calm...

My NAS issues are turning into a project though...
The general consent is that you can't just insert the HDD's into a new unit and have the data readily avail... nay...
You'd actually first have to use some mdadm & LVM tools on a Linux(!) computer to retrieve the files and "park" them on some other drive...
What an ordeal... transfer nearly 700GB via USB adapters... takes like forever...
My idea to set up the new NAS with only HDD 1 installed, once that is up and running just insert HDD 2 and mirror the files again doesn't seem feasible,
because the storage format of the new models differs... dafuq?! :cautious:
This drives the whole concept of safe and reliable data storage ad absurdum...
Why even bother with a NAS if the advertised hot-swap doesn't even work within units of the same brand/manufacturer?!... pfffff...

anyway, almost end of the week...

Good morning and thx Keith!

Just returned from Oslo, after a week of tiling and doing unusual stuff 14 hours a day.
I really feel old now…

It’s Easter holidays until tuesday over here, so now I’m back in my usual mode.
«The quiet week» it’s called.

Today is cooking the traditional komla.

10c/50f, overcast, 25mph breeze.

Have a quiet one!
Stu

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Keith. 67F on the dog walk with a clear sky full of stars and a bright moon. there was just a small breeze to top things off and make it a nice walk.
landscaper will be here this morning to do spring trimming and clean up. so there goes my morning. I will wait and see what turns up for the afternoon. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

Sunny and 47, going to 57 in MA today.

I did the gym and went to HD yesterday, but not much else.
Bought some vinyl post wraps and sleeves for the rear porch, and that'll be my next project, after Easter.

I'll head over to the gym again, try for a walk.
I'll start some cleanup in advance of the company we expect on Sunday.
I mentioned to Brenda that we still need to buy the childproof latches to keep our granddaughter Eloise out of the kitchen cabinets.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the starting fluid, Keith.

Another nice one today. Partly cloudy, but still dark, at 49 degrees. Today will be mostly sunny and 75, just right for more yard work.

Got the results back from Teddy’s allergy test. He’s allergic to Johnson grass, and several other lawn weeds, but his worst reaction is from dust mites, so the bedroom carpet will get replaced with hardwood, soon. His treatment will consist of sublingual drops once a week to help build up an immunity, much like allergy shots for humans.

A chilly 45F/7C in SoMD...winter doesn't want to let go just yet, despite the nearly 4 inches of spring rain we've gotten so far this month (we average 3.5 for the whole month). Getting in a little work this a.m. before heading out of town to visit/check on the MIL. Her health and her wits are declining, to the point that I tend to find things to do around her house to avoid dealing with her increasing paranoia. I do hope to sneak out to the beach or even just the pool though as the weather will be wonderful all wknd. I just hope that the airlines cooperate this time...

Thanks for the joe, Keith, and I hope all who are hurting, physically, mentally, or emotionally, find healing and peace. Take care y'all!

Good morning all!
Thank you Keith, for stepping in to fill in and shoulder the load!
We are all in the same boat! I’m missing the banter of certain individuals!

I guess it’s a fine line, to control for the good of all! I too have been “justifiably bounced” on occasion! I’m trying to use caution so it doesn’t re-occur!

Mac, I do hope your Dr has another PT available to properly work on your Mrs.
I understand it is critical to get the proper treatment after surgery.

Steve my condolences, I missed posting that yesterday.

John, glad to hear the vet understands what Teddy needs!

My Judy will return tomorrow evening, she has administered to her sisters, all the TLC that was required.
Today she’s nursing her cousin, she had cataract surgery this morning and needed a chauffeur until tomorrow.
I must get moving, there’s lots to do to get things shipshape!
The head administration requested a tidy ship when she re-boards!

Those struggling with issues, soldier on!
You are not alone, inspiration is only an invitation away!

32/50 a sunny day promised with a gentle SSW breeze.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith! And yes indeed, some of our friends are conspicuous by their absence!

Wow, talk about horrid weather yesterday! The entire day was a nasty, cold, windy mess of rain and snow. There were even a couple of near white-outs! Luckily, the snow didn't stick and fortunately, the weather gods have taken pity on us and provided us with a beautiful day today, with brilliant sunshine and palatable temperatures - not blistering hot, but not freezing cold, either. 1°C/34°F with a feels-like of -4°C/25°F now, 10°C/50°F later. Works for me.

@St-Gerard: Happy Anniversary to you and your bride!
@jdmccright: Good luck with the MIL - I went through very trying times with my own mother, who had advanced dementia and was as angry and stubborn as an ornery mule. I hope things go smoothly and that you manage to get some beach time.

Everyone have a great day, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Morning Keith & All from a clear, but :wind1:, morning in Southern Utah!

Currently the temp is 48F, and heading for 62F, with a storm brewing. The winds, now are from the SW @ 7 to 11mph. Could get stronger later, up to 36mph. Over the next three days, we could see rain & possibly snow, with temps down to 26F tomorrow night. But, like always, when it hits the ground, I'll believe it!

@motomac : Mac, at least the Dr. recognizes what Carole needs, so hopefully she get that PT now.
@St-Gerard Happy anniversary! :hat3:
For all that we are missing, hope all is well for them, and can make it back soon.
Speaking of such, did any one hear if @970mike made it home okay, the other day?

As for me, those plants we bought on Monday, have turned my front yard into a heck of a project. I did get it about 75% completed. At least with this weather coming in, it should hold up and I won't see a bunch of mud, flowing into the drain.

No drink/food yet, Chris is still asleep. Pepsi(s) will be on the Menu at some point today.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all! Another sunny beautiful day. It's currently 9C on the way to a high of 16C.

Working from home again as the In-laws arrive later today. Our daughter's boyfriend arrives on Saturday so we are scrambling to set up sleeping quarters for everyone. It appears I will lose my office for the duration of the In-law visit so that the boyfriend has a relatively private place to stay. He starts work on Monday at 6 am so it works perfectly given that the office is not attached to the house.

Other than that, work work and the odd errand.

Hopefully, the missing folks are just taking a brief sojourn, they all add a lot and it would be nice to "see" them again.

Hope everyone has a great day!
