Finally got the back end together, but I left my manual at home, so I have everything loose but assembled, might just leave everything loose to make my first ride of the year exciting. OK, on second thought...
Rode to Calgary to pick up some supplies for another hobby of mine - reloading rifle ammo - not much on the shelves for the last few years, so I scrounge the buy n sell sites, and found some brass I’ve been looking for, for a while now. About 220 miles round trip. Perfect weather, full sun, 75 deg F. Makes for lots of smiles, even if they’re mostly on the inside….
Finally changed the regular NGK spark plugs on my ST1100, for new NGK Iridium.
It was about time to change them, and the price of the Iridium is now almost the same than the regular ones.
The Left Rear (number 4) cylinder is a bit less accessible and need to have a bit more tupperware removed. Anyway, not a big deal.
Now, it may be subjective.... but I'm sure my engine runs more even, like a sewing machine. No more caughing or misfiring.
Well it wasn't today but Monday. Went to local BMW dealer & drank the koolaid. I'm ST- less now. Bought a (new) 2021 R1250RT. Still trying to figure out all the goodies on this thing. Hope to still lurk & post occasionally though.
The '00 ST1100Y got fresh oil & filter, new head bearings (no notch yet, but low turning resistance), new fork seals (RHS was showing a tiny seepage, no drops but enough to have the dust seal appear "humid"...) + forks flushed & new 7W oil...
I had to troubleshoot a fuel pump that wouldn’t come on with the ignition switch. Got a 12 flash code and started to investigate, and found this! I am supposed to leave on a trip a week from Saturday. Haha! Glad it didn’t happen 3000 miles from home
Damn Mice.. now I am in full
panic mode.. if you happen to have an injector harness let me know!
