I have let my ST1100 sit for too long and now needs carb work. I live in SW Minnesota and would like to take it to someone I can trust. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Mike

What are the symptoms?
If it won't run unless the choke (fuel enricher) is on, you have idle jets clogged up.
That's a matter of pulling the carbs, removing the bowls so you can clean the jets.
FWIW, Honda shops usually will not touch a ST1100 because of the age.
If you are not mechanically inclined, you may have to reach out to an independent shop that does carbs.
Somewhere I remember that there was a person that offered carb rebuilds as a service on this site but I do not have the link.

Thanks for the thoughts!
Last time I started it 5 years (?) ago it ran on I'm thinking 2 cylinders. It's been sitting in the garage since. Need to bleed the brakes...
I just cleaned the idle jet on my 2004(?) VTX which I've been riding and it ran with only the choke (enrichener?) on, but that was only one carburetor and I don't have the tools to balance the carbs, although I did read an interesting piece by a guy who set up a balancing apparatus with beer cans!
If it's just a matter of taking off the bowls and cleaning jets, I might be able to do it. I agree with that a Honda shop wouldn't touch it, I doubt very much if the techs would even look at it that's why I asked if anyone knew someone close who would be interested. I've done a lot of carb work on cars, but motorcycles not so much.

Try asking your local dealer this same thing. There's a decent chance they're your best source of "yeah, there's a guy who does that..." My local independent moto-mechanic guy gets ~half his business from dealer-referrals on bikes too old for them to take on.

You can also try eBay / googling for "st1100 carb rebuild service". There are you-pull-and-send rebuild services (first thing that turned up for me on eBay with that) if it comes to that, e.g. just basic jet-cleaning won't cut it / you can't manage it. Not cheap.
