Rack for Top Box

Installed a rack last year and did'nt use it...
Too much chicken to scratch my finish on the case with hooks when travelling...
May be I'am getting old ?

Anal, persnickety, potato, potato, I like masking tape.

But I don't have any room to talk as I don't have a top box. Yet.

Can't fault that. I'm not even sure if I want a rack on the top box. I'll have to think about that after I get the box.

One reason I wanted a TurboTom Rack. It's a little bit higher off the topbox than the Guvi racks are. And after 7 years and 166+K miles, my bike is starting to look like it has some miles now, so a scratch here and there are just part of using/abusing it. However, on the '04, I'm trying to be as carefull as possible, but crap happens! :eek:4:

Ladder and eyeball? Just kidding you here but you do remember those Honda top boxes will come off if you pull the handle right?

It is so truth that the best luggage on the rear stand is an impermeable bag on which you can put a 10 pounds ice bag for appetiser...

Thanks for the linky guys. I was able snare one of these fine looking racks. And Kim says they still have about a dozen left in stock.
But when there gone there gone.

Well, it's a good thing I'll be putting the '04's topbox on my new 2010, once I turn it blue! :D Or I would have to buy another rack...

But truth be known, I'm just glad I don't have to buy another topbox! :eek:4:

The rack is a GIVI E96 Metal Top Case Rack intended for a Maxia E52 case

Hi John, do you use the rack much?and would you think it worth fitting? I'm looking for extra luggage options for 2up riding. also looking at a bagster tank cover and bag, or else stick magnets underneath the fake tank cover and use a magnetic bag, thanks.

Tank bag - I use an Oxford still, even though I have a Baglux tank cover and baglux bag. The bag interferes with the steering

Thanks John, I have an Oxford 38 litre (fully expanded) magnetic bag I use on the vfr and I'm careful to keep the magnets away from any metal burrs if possible.I have sat it on the St1100's tank, it does seem huge on there for some reason on the vfr it's very easy to live with and that's a smaller bike.
I'm borrowing a bagster tank cover and tank bag this week to try out on the ST,so I'll see how that goes.
The metal rack would be handy for light bulky items alright, maybe the waterproofs which can be grabbed in a hurry.

Back in December Kim from CST said they had 17 TurboTom Topcase Racks, (I bought one for my '04, so they have 16?)

You can call him and see if he still has any left.

Here is the skinny:

$71.98 for the rack. $8.75 for shipping by USPS Priority Mail. Total of $80.73

Send payment via PayPal if you can to paypal@casporttouring.com Declare it as a gift.

If not, you can call me at 510-741-3700 and I can take a credit card over the phone.

You can also mail a check if you want. Just let me know.

No tax, as I am considering it a private transaction.

Thanks,

Kim

Kim told me 2 weeks ago that he still had 7 of these at $71.98.

Mine arrived yesterday so he probably still has 6
