Alternator

Hello
I have to complete kit to upgrade your 1992. The adapter plate was obsolete and a few years ago I made some in my shop. I have sold 130 with good feedback and excellent results. I now sell complete kit alternator, shaft, plate, two bearings and bolts. The price is 530.00 with free shipping.

Since I restored old bikes since jr high, I've been in the habit of buying up 'wear' parts prior to beginning a rebuild simply because of this....they frequently vanish from the planet just before you need one, plus having a part in the garage doesn't slow down a rebuild. Usually it's the same parts regardless of model or year. While rounding up parts I found an alternator from a low mile wreck....no scratches, nicks or evidence of leaking. Needless to mention this was before I joined this group and realized they were relatively rare. Once I did, I could find none at the few remaining bike scrap yards....don't think there are any left now, except under newer subdivisions. Haven't even seen a suspicious one on Ebay for quite a while now.

Just consider this a tip should you buy an 'old' bike you may fall in love with. Round 'em up while you can.....and....there are few like FZ750 out there.
That's why I have an Uncle Phil's Parts Department to support his Uncle Phil's Repair Shop.
Been 'collecting' ST1100 spares for a long time knowing the day would come ...
And I have been advising ST1300 owners to do the same while they can. ;)

Which is why, as much as I love my STs, I hesitate to recommend these bikes to anyone that isn't a combination mechanic, inventor, scavenger, and maybe above all, patient.

Any of these bikes that are perfect "except for one little issue", like the EFI light comes on sometimes, or the rear brake is dragging, or this piece of bodywork is missing. Those are the ones that make me ask the prospective buyer, "Are you sure you're ready for this?"

That said, many are and dive in enthusiastically. Good on them!
