I'm not saying I drink too much coffee... :coffee:
Though some folks state my body might keep moving 48hrs after I've perished... :devilish:

G'Day...

14°/21°C, overcast with good chances of rain... and a "heat warning" for the weekend... we might see 26°~28°C...

office, skeleton crew, but ze boss initiated another WhatsApp carpet bombing to wade through...
he shows the tendency to photograph/send his "notes" in random order... avoids boredom or such...

Used yesterday's holiday to not only check, but actually adjust the valve clearances on the '94 ST1100...
The clearances start to narrow at almost 200,000km on the clock...
Especially #3 IN started to get tight...

The angled feeler gauges come handy, the embossed dimensions on them are plain wrong though, so out with the micrometer (you need to confirm each shim thickness anyway...)

Steady, one cam and one bucket/shim at a time... then re-check... all clearances dead center now... should run smooth...

Enjoy the start into the weekend!

Thx Martin, good job!
Coffee too.

11˚c/52f, overcast, quite calm.

Son wants shrimps and crab, so off on my bicycle in a bit to buy.
Got a bottle of $50 dollar Chablis to my birthday, and look forward to share it tonight.
I’m to cheap to buy that expensive wine myself…

A ride on my ST is on the agenda too, yihaaa!

Have a good one!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the caffeine jolt to get us started today, Martin.

It's a foggy, cloudy, humid 64°F in Rockville at the moment. We must've gotten a trace of light misty stuff overnight because the pavement is damp except under cars, trees, etc. Day-long cloud cover leading to scattered evening rain showers and a high around 78 are expected. And also, this from the NWS:

AREAL FLOOD - WATCH
As a slow-moving frontal system tracks across the area, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible. While initially posing a severe weather threat, a shift to a slow moving complex of moderate to heavy rain unfolds into the evening and night. Storm totals could reach 2 to 3 inches, locally nearing 4 inches in spots.

What
Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

When
From this evening through late tonight.

Impacts
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Looks like we're in for some continued soggy weather over the weekend.

Yesterday's visit to the oral surgeon didn't go as expected. Evidently I need to be seeing a periodontist instead. So, there's now an appointment set up for that but not until early July, after we return from Hawai'i.

Goof is on the agenda for today, followed by a visit with a friend to a local brewery for their Grand Opening.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

I saw exactly that situation 20 or more years ago. The local PBS station was airing Moody Blues concert footage as bait to attract viewers to their seeming never-ending pledge drive begathon; the guys in the band had their waistbands and belts not far below their armpits.

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Martin. 67F on the dog walk with stars filling up the clear sky. on my second walk I saw our first coyoteite of the summer cross the road about 30ft in front of us. dog #2 sure wanted to give chase but I had a tight grip on his leash and the coyoteite went off into the desert.
have gym this morning and with the high of 97F this afternoon I believe I will find something inside to do. enjoy the day

stay safe

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's cloudy and 62 in MA this morning, rising to 73 with some showers developing this afternoon. Rain showers tonight as a precurser to t-storms and more rain, tomorrow.

I made it to the restaurant and gym, yesterday, and not much more.
I grouted the vestibule tile floor, but didn't have quite enough, so I'll be back this morning, before my Friday gym experience. I was also going to replace the valve assembly in one of the faucets, but when I pulled the leaking one, I found that the old an new items aren't the same, so...

I'll see if the VFR starts, and if it does, I'll have it inspected. I haven't used it recently, and am off and on thinking of selling it.
I got a text from @blueSTormer, one of our departed members, asking if we'll be around during their trip east in July, for a possibe get-together. Unfortunately, we'll be travelling to OR as they're heading here. Maybe we can wave at the airport. :(.

Have a great day,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the cup, Martin.

Gray clouds are finally moving out, but only to make room for darker ones and more rain this afternoon. 65/71.

I’m making a trip into town to check the selection of pork roasts and whole briskets for the RTE, coming up on the 7th. Add on about 6# of ground beef and a few gallons of tea, and I can say that I’ve made a start on getting ready. Oh, can’t forget the pies.

John

Thanks for the coffee Martin, and congrats on the valve adjust.
Sadly, it reminds me of my mower failure and growing frustration with my continued failure to get it running again. But it's Friday, and our two weeks of daily rain is moving on to disrupt someone else. With 58 for the overnight low... in nearly June?!
That's just not right. Not in my world, anyway.
I read the small Swiss town of Blatten was buried under a glacier / mountain collapse, after being there since the 15th century, or earlier. Um, the town. I'm sure the mountain is older than that. Only one man missing, from the report I read.
It's getting late in the morning for this working stiff, so y'all carry on.
Weekend!
