LOL, I made my boy friend so angry one night last year he couldn't even talk to me when I rode 30 miles to his house in the rain. It was about 40 degrees and way past dark. Yup it was a cold, dark, wet night... so what, I have gear. He was genuinely livid.... "I just fixed your car, why won't you drive it?!?!?!" The madder he got the funnier I thought it was. Laughing at him only fueled his anger. I was really surprised at how angry he was, and how poor he thought my decision to ride was.
From my point of view... no threat of ice, I need to be 30 miles away... ride. No decision to make. It took some time and some serious efforts to try an appreciate the other person's opinion. He's right, it was dangerous. And given the chance tomorrow, I'd still ride. I just wish it wouldn't upset him so much. He cares, hard to fault the man for caring. But its pretty clear that he doesn't get what drives me to saddle up every day and "go ride".
