Two new nt1100's just popped up for sale in San Diego.

Traded in my big Versys 1000LT SE for the new NT1100. Took the Versys down to the dealer signed it over to him. He said my NT was shipped on Wednesday the 7th of May. Should be here next week. (I hope) Have ordered the panniers and top box on the 6th of May. We will see how long that takes. I down loaded the operators manual in PDF form and have been reading up on the bike a little bit. Not sure this old brain will be able to figure out all the settings and selections. Dealer gave me almost 10K trade for my Versys as it stood with all my extra on it. Gave me 50 cents on the dollar for the value of the extras. Saved me from having to take them off and try to sell them on the Versys forums and FB market place. Looking forward to getting back into the Honda fold.

Sorry for your loss. Hope the NT works out.

No loss, getting up in the years and just wanted to try something new. The Versys is a great machine and I can always find another Versys if I want. There are enough out there. Had a good 6+ years and 27000 miles with mine. It was either the Versys or the FJR. Will keep the FJR a while longer. Not riding near enough lately anyway.

Just got a call from my Nicest People Honda Dealer that my bike just arrived and is being unloaded from the truck. I will go down tomorrow around Lunch time after my wife's PT appointment and check it out. I believe by Friday evening it should be nestled in the garage with the FJR and the V-Strom. Hopping they get along with each other. This weekend I should be able to install the pannier and top box.

I picked one up about 10 days ago. I had a trip planned on the Guzzi so haven’t put many miles on, only at 499 as of tonight. This bike is brilliant! I think it’s great. DCT is super although I often go for the non existent shifter at stops. I will adjust. Only thing is I use gear and rpm to determine speed and I can’t do that with DCT and often I’m going faster than I should. Not a problem or complaint just an observation

Got to finally sit on one (not ride it though) this AM…seems tall before I get on (like the R1200RT I rented years ago). Once on, I fit well on it and can flat foot my boots, so size isn’t an issue. Seems well constructed and the gloss blue is very nice (for some reason I originally thought they sent a matte bike for the US market). I only have one, very small complaint (if I can call it that)…no storage, at all, in the dash or cowl region. I like the storage I have on the STs (usually for my wallet and phone and on the left, garage remote and a few other minor things). That’s it, otherwise looks to be a winner. I’m not buying one at this time, but I’m glad they have it assembled on the floor now. The only other thing is that I thought (and maybe I’m wrong) that the front indicators would be integrated into the headlight and there are stalks on this one (maybe I’m thinking of the new NC750X). My dealership also has a used NC750X DCT still for sale and they dropped the price (was $6999, now is $6499).

Dealer is Redline Powersports in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The NT is going for $11,899 + title, tags, and tax, no markup per the salesman.

I suspect you'll come to like those plastic "wings". My Honda NT700V had some wind deflectors on it. I think they were called something like handlebar wind deflectors. I looked all over the bike's front end, totally lost in trying to find them. Eventually, someone pointed them out to me. They were blended into the front fairing so well that you wouldn't know they were there...and they worked perfectly.

Maybe these aren't blended in as well, but I'll bet they make a huge difference.

There's a difference in the engineering approach on new bikes like the NT1100. Before, we relied on massive fairings to push the air out of the way...and huge engines to get those massive fairings down the road. Now, the engineers are spending more time in the wind tunnel and pushing the air out of the way just enough, but not too much. My F800GT was that way. The fairing didn't seem like it would do much, but it did. Put your hand down by your legs and it was in fairly still air. Move it out an inch...and it was in the full blast of the wind.

I think I'd give the Honda engineers some credit for knowing what they were doing. ;) :)

I'd use a magnetic tank bag for small item storage as I have since the mid 70's.

For looks I prefer my naked CB 1100.

but ... I ride the NC 750X DCT the most these days and just don't look at it much lol. I'm not much into today's styling, all angles and pointy an stuff

Had only one small problem, For some reason we only ordered one lock set. Need three, so the other two are on order now and should be here with in the week.
